This is me playing records at Cass Cafe, one of my favorite places in Detroit. A real art gallery with a restaurant inside including a staff as quirky as the artists that present their work here.

This night was special, because I was able to share my favorite dish there "The Love Basket" with the people present, my friend Roger, the DJs of Watusi High, especially Jay "Bear" Daniel and our shared extended families.

It is one of my dreams to present in this space, but I've never felt like a Corridor artist. My feeling is the work I do lacks the angst, poetry and spontaneity of the community. And I want to honor the spirit of the Cass Corridor, even while it becomes something different, perhaps even better.

When you are here, please visit the Cafe, have a love basket and talk to some people that love Detroit, like I do.

I'm 'bout up to my booty in discuss for art that intentionally looks like crappy hand made crafts.
They should just make crappy hand made crafts.

But in a land where a black guy (The President) has to tell a bunch of white guys (Congress), why replacing the government's fleet of gas guzzlers with fuel efficient hybrids, bio diesel and electric vehicles is a good thing. It's hard to expect more from the people on the ground level.

So, with that I make images that sail right over the heads of most people that like the colors and shapes, like four / four beats in poop music. It's a formula. That occasionally leaves the owner of a work exposing their dumbness to someone they were not impressed by.

And I like it like that.

It's only slightly reminiscent of that scene from the Exorcist

Two thousand years ago the cross was used as a really effective torture device, causing individuals to die by lack of air or an exploding heart. Today many people that claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, sport about highly decorated stylized charms and medallions featuring this symbol as a status symbol and social statement that beating and impaling people is the best way to achieve prosperity.

Personally I keep three iron nails in my pocket.

Erotic art is not about just naked raw flesh in provocative poses, sometimes it's about exciting cerebral neurons to recall events real and imagined.

I went to Kafka High on the deep east side and things were somewhat more enlightened than your weekend Buddha burners.

There was literature, music and of course older women to guide us through our experiences.

Now I pass the mantle of nerdy eros on to the youth.

Enjoy

Some things are distracting and then there are distractions that some people never get

To the women that like ballers, dealers and others with highly at risk lifestyles, we appreciate you with your youthful hydraulic breasts, firm buttocks and perky eyes, for being the type that generate fantasies of drunken bouts of meaningless intercourse in back seats of rented or borrowed European sports sedans and that's about it.  Still we find it greatly entertaining when we annoy the heck out of normal women with your facade.
However this is a special piece of Pi and only a select few will enjoy more than a cheap Internet download of this unique collectible print.

Still, I have a larger lexicon than the guy you're dating
Too bad such a wonderful resource would be wasted on the general population of most rustbelt urban centers in America.

Yet, what frustration I have with the inability to engage in beneficial discourse with physically attractive albeit disposable counterparts for intellectual intercourse is greatly mitigated by the sums of mammon I extract from the mongers of Romanesque communions to the panderers that frequent highly promoted establishments of dubious hedonistic repute. And to them I must express gratitude.

The translucent light produced by these Softboxes has been the photographer's friend for years. The new fabrics are much more resistant to the effects of heat, age and pollution. The color temperature of this new softbox is near neutral, and will stay that way.

--Barndoor and Color Gel:

This 4 leaf barndoor set is specifically designed for use on the reflector. Barndoors are essential accessories for any lighting system. These devices alter the shape, intensity, or color of the light output from your flash heads. Use of a barndoor set will result in a shaft of light, when it is attached to the front of the reflector of your light source. The size of the shaft of light will be determined by the opening of the leaves, and the distance of the light from the subject.

--Umbrella:
Works well to diffuse the light from any flash creating a soft even light for your subject. Light-weight and easy set up.

We have found muslin to be by far the most versatile material for photography backdrops. It is great for all types of photography: family, children, high school seniors, bridals, models, or even commercial work.
